3G magic comes to India with the launch of ‘Jaadu’

Indian users can now access a range of multiple utilities on their mobile phones – making high-speed Internet on mobile, video-calling, video surveillance and watching live TV. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh launched the country’s first 3G technology-based mobile services of MTNL in Delhi, called ‘Jaadu’ or magic.

The 3G service was inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh by receiving a video call from Telecom Minister A Raja, who was also present at the function here.

“I congratulate MTNL and the communications minister for launching the 3G service,” the prime minister said.

To enjoy 3G services, customers have to buy 3G-enabled mobile phone, which is already available in market, plus a 3G subscription from a mobile service provider User can make phone calls, send fax, roam globally, send and receive large e-mails and browse the web at high-speed, do video-conferencing and watch streaming TV
