Go to Google.com and type in your topic plus the word forum, for example "acne forum" or "home schooling forum" (without the quotes) and you will find plenty of forums. To get links back to your website or websites, choose the busy forums. These are the ones that attract the most visitors and the most posting activity. They will usually be listed near the top of the search results page at Google or Yahoo or whichever search engine you prefer. Pick one forum or several and take a look. Like what you see? Great. Note the sort of forum signatures that disguise it. By contributing useful comments or asking relevant questions or expressing your thanks in a contextually relevant way (not just 'Good point, thanks'), your forum post and your signature can gain visibility. And traffic back to your site!
