Deal or No Deal Game Show on Malayalam Channel Surya TV

Malayalam channel Surya TV has launched a new game show ‘Deal or No Deal’ on November 7, with a prize money of Rs 50 lakh. It would be telecast in over 26 episodes between 7.30 pm and 8.30 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Each participant has a chance to win a maximum of Rs.50 lakh, while viewers could win total prize money of Rs one lakh per episode (participate via SMS).
The show is hosted by actor Mukesh, who had earlier presented ‘Kodeeswaran’ drawn on the lines of the hugely successful ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ which was first anchored by Amitabh Bachchan and later by Shah Rukh Khan.
Contestants for the show were selected from the responses to the ‘call for entry activity’ that ran on the channel few weeks ago.
About Game
Deal or No Deal in Malayalam is based on the international television game show, Deal or No Deal that has been telecast in over 73 countries and has given away over Rs 500 crores in cumulative prize money, making this Endemol owned format show one of the most successful game shows in Television history.
The game involves 26 suitcases, each of which contains an unknown amount between Rs.1 and Rs.50 lakh. To begin with, a contestant chooses any one of the 26 suitcases, not knowing how much money is inside.
The contestant’s objective is to walk away from the game with the maximum possible amount of money through a process of opening the other 25 boxes and deciding to deal or not to deal with a mysterious banker who offers to buy the suitcase offering varying amounts of money at different stages of the game.

All the previous comments are interesting and in favor of the programme. I, for one, have a different view. Why is the channel making us view a programme where somebody is winning, some doing some drama and things like that. There is no quiz like questions to be answered. What is this programme all about, which is shown not only in Surya TV but in most other Sun Network channels? Please scrap it and replace it with some pure music based real programmes (not reality shows). Will Surya TV take the lead?

I am Johnson from Konni, Pathanamthitta. I am a regular viewer of Deal or Nodeal programme in Surya TV. This is a very interesting & helpful item to number of persons who is financially weak. I am also interesting to participate this programme, because I was worked in Delhi, now I am jobless since last 11 months, the company shifted to Daman. I have 2 children, elder son in Class 5th & younger son in KG. They are studying in Don Bosco School. Fees is very high, I am staying in rented, my wife is working a private firm, now I can’t afford all these expenses.
Also I have one indimate friend he is suffering of Blood Cancer last 1 year. He is taking the treatment from Velloore CMC. Now he is at his home. His total expense was 20 lakhs. Nowadays people dont understand other’s feelings and their hands hesitate to reachout. Middle class people are the one’s who really face financial problems, I am one among them but nobody come forward to help a middle class family. There may not be a sick patient at home or a widower but still there is expense and worry coming one after the other. You may have brother’s and sister’s, daughter’s and son’s but no use. I am manoj kumar, my native place calicut. I would like to participate this programe. I had gone to UAE for job on 23rd june 2008. When i was working there, there was terrible fire in the room which we reside on 17th Aug 2008. There were 5 members in the room. All of them were unconscious an account of poisonous gas emitted from AC fire. Three of them were killed at the spot. Me and another one were escaped from there and hospitalised. We were very serious condition for days and any how escaped from death. The company in which we worked compelled the hospital authority for discharging and they discharged from hospital an 9th day before care and sent back to home country without giving any financial help.
After arrived here i am under the treatment of Medical College hospital, kozhikode. I could not work any job an account of illness. When i went for job abroad, i accumulate fund by taking a loan Rs.75000/- from Kozhikode Urban Bank, Mankavu branch and by selling gold of my wife. This loan could not repay till date. My wife, 2 children ( 17 years old and 14 years old) and i reside in the help of my brother. Now we are solely depend on my brother. We are very difficult to meat the expense for my treatment and education of my children. Therefore i humbly request to consider my letter!!

pl refer to the statement of Mr.Mukesh that Late P.T.Chacko was the founder leader of Kerala Congress. This is a false statement. Shri.Chacko was a Congress Party leader. He had some differences with the congress Party which led to his resignation from the Sankar Ministry. It was his followers under the leadership of Shri K.M.George who formed the Kerala Congress, the first regional party in India. Mr.Mukesh is uttering Himalayan blunders in the show. Pl.try to verify the facts before reading out whatever information that is passed on to you by the show managers.
