Internet@TV on Samsung HDTV

The Samsung television sets will allow users to access internet using TV widgets.

Samsung Electronics has announced that many of its HDTV products released in 2009 have special feature Internet@TV – get internet content via TV widgets. The new TV widget service from Yahoo will be made available only on select models of Samsung’s 2009 flat-panel HDTV.

The Yahoo widget engine allows users to check news headlines, stocks, search internet based photos and videos, and interacting with friends. Flickr, Yahoo News, Yahoo Weather and Yahoo Finance, USA Today, YouTube, and eBay can be accessed via the HDTV

Samsung HDTVs connect to the Internet via built-in Ethernet or optional Wi-Fi USB dongle.

Samsung HDTVs with the Yahoo widget engine and TV widgets will be available in 13 countries in 2009.
