Kindle 2 – Amazon’s new portable e-Book reading device

Amazon.com has announced the updated version of its popular Kindle reader, named Kindle2, during an Amazon press conference at Morgan Library & Museum in New York City on Feb. 9. Kindle reader is a portable reading device for downloading and reading e-books, blogs, magazines, and newspapers. The new version is available for $359.
Kindle Store has more than 230,000 books, top US and international newspapers, magazines, and more than 1,100 blogs.

The new Kindle features longer battery life, 20 percent faster page-refreshing, more internal storage (1500 books), new read-to-me feature and overall thickeness reduced to 0.36 inches. You can also download books to your PC or Mac and transfer via USB to your Kindle.
Kindle 2 is being released on February 24, 2009 and it will be available to pre-order now. The company has a special offer for the Kindle 1 owners. If they place orders by 10 February midnight PST, they get priority on the shipping list. Amazon.com says: “Place your Kindle 2 order by midnight PST on February 10th and you will receive first priority”.
