Vodafone Launches BlackBerry Storm in India

Mobile service operator Vodafone launched the BlackBerry Storm, the world’s first touchscreen BlackBerry smartphone it has developed exclusively with Canada-based technology provider Research In Motion, in India.
Vodafone India has announced that the BlackBerry Storm will be available exclusively for Vodafone customers in India from 15 January 2009 onwards. It will be priced at Rs. 27,990.
The touchscreen handset has a 3.25-inch screen, 3.2 megapixel camera with variable zoom, and one GB of on board memory storage expandable up to 16GB.
Other features and functions BlackBerry Storm include:
• Facebook, Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, Yahoo Messenger and Flickr Photo Uploader for BlackBerry smartphones.
• BlackBerry Internet Service, BlackBerry Professional Software and BlackBerry Enterprise Server support.
• Preloaded DataViz Documents to Go allowing users to edit Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files directly on the handset.
Customers can access all Vodafone’s entertainment and information services including Vodafone Music, Google Maps and Find & Go navigation, and the Vodafone live! Portal.


Research In Motion has launched its online application store ‘BlackBerry App World’ on April 1, 2009. It will allow BlackBerry users to download applications for their smart phones.
